The 2025 Comprehensive Accreditation Manual for Ambulatory Care (CAMAC) features the official Joint Commission standards, elements of performance (EPs), National Patient Safety Goals®, and other accreditation requirements, including those for the optional Primary Care Medical Home certification. It is organized as follows:
Understanding Which Standards Apply. The Joint Commission surveys many types of organizations under the ambulatory care standards, including ambulatory surgery centers, community health centers, imaging centers, rehabilitation centers, and urgent care clinics. Standards for all these settings appear in the 2024 CAMAC. Eligibility requirements will differ based on the services provided and survey option you select.
The CAMAC also features icons to help navigate documentation requirements and risk areas and a “What’s New” summary of changes made since the previous edition.
